Character Matters presents The Ledger and the Axe: The rise, rivalry, and rule of Alexander Rankin, timber baron of Miramichi on August 9, at 2pm at the Burnt Church Historical Hall on the corner of Church River and Burnt Church. Come on down for the show, home-made cookies & tea. Admission is $15.

The Annual Peacekeeper Parade will be held at Chatham’s Elm Park on Saturday the 9th of August beginning at 11am. The public is invited to come out in support of all serving and retired Peacekeepers and those who have fallen in pursuit of world peace.

A community breakfast will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 9 am to 12 noon at Father Morriscy Centre, Bartibog. On the menu is: 2 eggs, 2 breakfast meats, brown beans, toast, home fries, juice, tea and coffee. Adults: $12. Children: $6. Everyone welcome.

Annual Harvest Home Supper at St. Stephen’s United Church at 7970 Route 117, Black River Bridge on Monday Sept. 1. Tickets on sale from 11:30 am to 5: pm.
Meals served from noon to 5:30 pm.
Only 500 dinners will be sold. Choice of Turkey dinner for $18 or Salmon diner for $20. Take-out available.
