A 39-year-old Miamichi woman has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle collision in Strathadam last August that claimed the lives of two women from the Metepenagiag First Nation.

Kassandra Donahue is facing two counts of impaired driving causing death.

She returns to court on April 19th.

Public Health reported seven new cases of COVID-19 yesterday here in New Brunswick.

Four of the cases are in the Edmundston region and three in the Moncton region.

There are currently 56 active cases in New Brunswick.

The MLA for Kent South says two fatal crashes on Route 11 last week would likely have not happened if the higway had been twinned.

Rene Doiron from the Neguac area and Neil Linklater from the Esgenoopetitj First Nation were killed in separate incidents last week.

A man from Saint Charles was also killed.

MLA Benoit Bourque says the chances of a head on collision on a twinned highway is almost zero.

A $272 million project that would have twinned Route 11 from Shediac to Miramichi was canceled by Premier Blaine Higgs .

And Horizon Health Network CEO Karen McGrath is leaving her post.

She has announced that she will step down effective next Jan. 16th.

She has been CEO of Horizon since January of 2017.
